Procured from the estate of collectors of fine antiques, this beautiful pair of red and white Staffordshire Mantel Dogs are showing a little more wear and tear than our other Staffordshire Dog offerings. What they lack in perfect finish, they make up for with charm though! These dogs are unmarked and with a very small firing hole at the base, likely date to the mid to later Victorian era. When considering their condition, please note the hairline above the back haunch of one dog and the other having a crack starting at the front of neck and extending down back with old, flaking restoration/paint and a minor chip on the back of ear. There are also some manufacturing flaws and painting imperfections. Even so, this Blenheim pair is lovely addition to your Staffordshire Dog collection.
These dogs are about 10 inches tall, 7 inches long, and about 4.5 inches wide.
