Staffordshire Pink Lusterware Pairing of an Illustrated Teacup and complimentary Lusterware Saucer, of like period and with Staffordshire England stamp. This pairing would be a beautiful addition to a collection and display of lustreware, or for use. On one side of the teacup is a man serenading a woman with his flute, while the other side displays what appears to be a house or garden structure.
There is one crack in the glazing of the teacup, visible from above and crazing to the glaze on the underside of the saucer and top rim. There is wear to the color along the rim of both the teacup and the saucer, consistent with the age of the piece; as well as wear to the pink coloring on the saucer surface. Similarly, there are some paint marks on both pieces, consistent with the handmade nature of both items. These items are old, and imperfect but each piece is independently charming and interesting and they make for a beautiful pair. Please inspecting listing photos closely for details on the condition of this pair.
The saucer on this piece is approximately 6.5 inches in diameter.
