This plate is truly stunning! When researching this particular item recently acquired from the collection of a former dealer, I found the following information and knew my HHC customers would be interested too:
Created around 1975, [this] plate with it’s beautiful and very expensive Pijnacker motif uses under enamel blue and above enamel red with 24 carat gold leaf that imitates Japanese Imari porcelain. Due to the high costs, it is hardly ever made by the factory. It was produced by Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) which is the last surviving earthenware factory from the 17th century in Delft. The factory began producing in 1653 and became quickly one of the most important pottery factories in the Netherlands.
This stunning piece of craftsmanship is in excellent secondhand condition, with no chips or cracks, etc. and only minimal areas of crazing in the glaze and is ready for immediate hanging on your wall. Please inspect listing photos closely for further details on the condition. It has been modified on the back to hang from the wall with an attached picture wire, which is also photographed.
This plate is 10 inches in diameter and approximately 1.25 inches tall.
