This rare and authentic Staffordshire flat back figure is a portrait piece of Abd-ul-Medjid, the 31st Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, and dates to 1854. This Victorian Staffordshire piece is in remarkable antique condition with one repair to the Sultan’s neck, which remains visible. There is a small amount of crazing but there are no other major flaws. The beautiful neutral color palette makes this a great piece for new collectors not yet ready to commit to the bright and colorful tones of most other Staffordshire pieces; it retains all of the naive charm characteristic of the pieces.
This figure is around 5.25 inches long. 2 inches wide, and around 8.75 inches tall.
