Pair of Vintage Tobacco Leaf Vases

This pair of Tobacco Leaf vases is absolutely stunning. Vivid colors, classic pattern, phoenix perched at the top,  pomegranate fruit detail at the handles…they are overflowing with Chinoiserie style! These pieces are not Mottahedeh or otherwise marked, though the motif itself is not unique to the company and still highly collectible! These vases are the perfect width for display on a mantle or sideboard and with a bit of creativity and work, would even make a beautiful matching pair of lamp conversions.

One vase has damage to the top that was previously repaired. The crack is visible, but the repair appears strong. Even so, you will want to take extra care in handling this particular vase and do NOT pick up either vase from the tops to prevent further damage. The crack and repair is not visible from the front if displayed with the crack to the wall. The pattern repeats on each side so displaying this way will not detract from the impact of this piece. These vases otherwise have no other cracks, chips, or damage. There are some manufacturing imperfections in the paint and glaze, but again, they do not detract. Each vase is approximately 12 inches high, 3.5 inches deep at the base, 6 inches across the front at their widest point, 4.5 inches across the  front of the base, with an approximate 3 inch opening.
