Such a charming little character! This bust is modeled after Prince Louis Charles de Bourbon one of the descendants of Louis XIV of France, Bourbon monarch of the Kingdom of France. Although many likenesses and busts have been made of the Bourbon children, this piece is most likely a Staffordshire pottery rendition. From the colorful cap and clothing to the touches of gold detail and blush-filled cheeks, this bust is the perfect piece to anchor a small vignette and would look beautiful tucked into a bookshelf or side table. Some crazing to the piece and imperfections in the hand painted details, but no chips, cracks, or breaks. It is in excellent antique condition. Please inspect the listing photos closely.
